TORONTO: The Canadian Hardware and Housewares Association is pleased to announce Best New Canadian Product Award at 2001 Canadian Hardware & Building Materials Show for Retrofit Fire Door Kit (FIRESKIN), manufactured by Fire Safety Technologies Ltd (former Ever Ready Technologies Ltd).

Ever Ready Technologies Ltd. received the award for its patented, UL listed and labelled Retrofit Fire Door Kit (FIRESKIN), which converts existing doors into UL labelled fire rated doors. This DIY and one-size-fits-all product also increases the insulating value of existing doors and helps to eliminate drafts and noises. The product is for use in both existing commercial and residential structures in order to comply with Fire and Building codes. FIRESKIN can be used for the manufacturing of new fire doors.

Nearly 100 new products were entered in the competition for the Best New Canadian Product Award, held in conjunction with the Canadian Hardware & Building Materials Show. Products are judged on uniqueness, user friendliness, consumer appeal and value.

Sponsored by the Canadian Hardware & Housewares Manufactures Associations (CHHMA), the award is presented annually. The competition is limited to firms exhibiting at the show. All entries must be manufactured in Canada and have gone into production in the last 18 months and have not previously been displayed at this show.

Established in 1968, the CHHMA is the voice for more than 280 Canadian based manufacturers and agents. The Association provides its members with key programs, including education seminars and government lobbying, industry trends, statistics and cost discounts on a variety of service programs.
