Independent Testing
Retrofit Fire Door Kit, installed on a typical wooden hollow core door, was also tested under real fire conditions at Toronto Fire Department's Etobicoke Training Tower. The fire was contained for over one hour with temperature reaching over 2000 degrees F. Retrofitted door did not fail. The fire had to be extinguished due to structural failure of the building components but not the retrofitted door. After this test the Retrofit Kit has received the Canadian Firefighter Magazine's Seal of Approval. Below are snapshots of the process of the fire:
